Mira MARINCAȘ
Mira’s photographs are characterized by timelessness. Her phenomenon of dual associative vision, in which works with two fused components correspond to a contemporary story of genesis, follows both the process of artistic creation and its own birth. The old becomes the new actuality. Strikingly, the black-and-white photographs lead us along a path of contemplation and reflection, toward wabi-sabi, a Japanese philosophy grounded in the acceptance of imperfection and impermanence, guiding us toward a form of reconciliation in which we acknowledge the inevitability of these natural processes. The absence of color removes distractions and dissonances, allowing us to focus on the essence of the photographs.
At times, color traverses the surface of the work like a shadow within a textured transparency. A fragment of memory or an Oltenian recollection, serving as the lens of analog photography, shines within the context of the eye, of self-reflexivity, and of remembrance. The dramatic contrasts of light and shadow in her monochrome images serve as a unique way of highlighting forms, details, and textures. Taken as a whole, she unleashes an associative vision of the world, carefully conceived and constructed.
