About the artist
The subjects in my works represent everyday spaces. Translating these subjects into visual language has been, and still is, a very important social, historical and religious issue. Through these images, historical events, customs of very distant cultures, visions of ancient deities or different lifestyles have been communicated to us throughout the ages. In short, these images, which illustrate the everyday, represent the contemporary life of which the artist is a part. Like many contemporary artists, I use photography as a source of inspiration for my work.
Although I use photography in the process of my work, I do not consider it necessary to reproduce reality objectively, because in my view, contemporary painting is about producing chromatic and formal realities, not about illustrating pre-existing reality.
