Călin Dumitrașcu (b. 1997) lives and works in Cluj-Napoca. His practice focuses on paintings concerning subjects such as still life, landscapes, and animals, with a predilection towards sacred, and an existentialist view.
The fragility of the human being is embodied by plants, which are taken from their environment, and then placed in water, their only source of nourishment. There is always a sense of uncertainty combined with hope, the unfamiliar, and the peculiar. The landscapes submerge the viewer in a state of dizziness and unease through the minimalist use of colours.
