BRANCHES

Cluj is a city that simultaneously unites and diverges: always in motion, always shifting and changing. This exhibition follows four local artists whose paths originate from the same shared environment but move toward very different horizons.
In Sándor Juhos’s classically precise still-lifes, traditional forms subtly blend with gentle humor, turning ordinary objects into something festive, while András Szabó’s scratched graphics carved from black surfaces transform light itself into the subject, creating images that slowly but permanently imprint themselves into our memory. Botond Gagyi’s paintings hover at the border between dreams and everyday life, his figures emerging just clearly enough to let the viewer complete the missing details. István Bába’s works connect fragmented memories and digital imagery, creating a tension between past and present.
Through the presentation of these four artists, we aim to show that even though each branch follows its own distinct path, they all originate from the same channel, the same source.
